ARCI 412 / Architecture Design Capstone Project Te Tikanga-Tūtohu o te Whakarākei Whare
My Village Seed project explores how future housing models in Aotearoa New Zealand can better respond to shifting generational needs, focusing on reimagining retirement villages as vibrant, intergenerational communities for first-home buyers. Set in Newtown, Wellington, the project aims to create an adaptable and inclusive neighbourhood that challenges traditional housing typologies by integrating shared social spaces, public accessibility, and environmental responsiveness. The design prioritises community connection, affordability, and resilience within a high-wind, high-seismic context, proposing an architectural framework that can evolve with its residents over time.
